Position Overview
We are seeking a thoughtful and engaging High School History Teacher to join our Girls’ and Boys’ Divisions. The ideal candidate is passionate about history, skilled in discussion-based learning, and committed to helping students think critically about the past and its connection to the present. This role includes teaching American Curriculum History courses (Grades 9–12) and supporting students in developing historical thinking, analysis, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Teach high school History aligned with U.S. standards
- Design lessons that develop analysis, argumentation, and source evaluation
- Use primary and secondary sources to deepen understanding
- Assess student learning using a variety of strategies
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
Relationships & Classroom Culture
- Build respectful, supportive relationships with students
- Maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Encourage student voice and thoughtful discussion
Collaboration
- Collaborate with Social Studies colleagues

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field (required)
- Teaching license/certification (required)
- Secondary teaching experience preferred
- AP experience preferred
- Experience with the American Curriculum is an advantage
